Everything you'd ask over coffee

General
Will extensions damage my natural lashes?
When applied correctly, lash extensions should not damage your natural lashes. I take great care to isolate each lash properly and select extension lengths and diameters that achieve your desired look while preserving the health and strength of your natural lashes.
How do I prepare for my appointment?
Please arrive with a clean, makeup-free eye area. To help minimize eye fluttering during your appointment, avoid caffeine for at least 4 hours beforehand. If you wear contact lenses, I recommend removing them prior to your appointment for maximum comfort.
Does the application process hurt?
Not at all. A lash extension appointment should be comfortable and pain-free. If you experience any tugging, pinching, scratching, or stinging during your service, please let me know immediately so I can make adjustments. Some clients with sensitive eyes may notice mild redness after their appointment, which typically resolves within a few hours.
What do I do if I have an allergic reaction?
Although uncommon, an allergy to lash adhesive can develop at any time - even if you've worn extensions before without issue. Symptoms may include swelling, itching, redness, flaky skin, or discharge around the eyes. As I am not a medical professional, I cannot provide medical advice or recommend treatment. If you suspect you are experiencing an allergic reaction, I recommend having your extensions professionally removed as soon as possible and consulting a healthcare provider if your symptoms are severe or persist. Please contact me at the first sign of a reaction so we can safely remove your extensions.
How do I remove my eyelash extensions?
Please do not attempt to remove your lash extensions at home. Extensions are bonded securely to your natural lashes and require a professional-grade remover to safely dissolve the adhesive. Picking or pulling at your extensions can damage your natural lashes. If you're ready for a removal, I'd be happy to help, or you can visit any qualified lash professional.
Booking & Policy
Do I need a deposit to book?
No deposit is required. Instead, a valid credit card is securely stored on file to reserve your appointment. Your card will only be charged in the event of a cancellation within 48 hours of your appointment or a no-show.
What payment methods do you accept?
Payment is accepted via Zelle or cash. Credit and debit card payments are not currently available.
What if I'm running late or need to cancel?
Life happens, and I completely understand. If you're running late, please let me know as soon as possible. Depending on my schedule, your appointment may need to be shortened or rescheduled to avoid impacting the next client. Appointments cancelled within 48 hours of the scheduled time, as well as no-shows, will be charged 100% of the service fee.
Can I bring a friend or my kids?
To provide every client with a relaxing experience and ensure I can give your lashes my full attention, the studio is reserved for one artist and one client. I kindly ask that you attend your appointment alone.
Do you fill work from other studios?
Yes! Foreign fills are accepted on a case-by-case basis. If your existing extensions are unhealthy, overgrown, or incompatible with my work, I may recommend a full removal and fresh set instead. Please book the Foreign Fill Add-On with your appointment so enough time can be reserved.
Aftercare
How do I care for a new set?
Cleanse your lashes daily using an oil-free lash cleanser and brush (both available for purchase at your appointment). Avoid mascara and oil-based products around the eye area, brush your lashes gently with a clean spoolie each day, and never pick or pull at your extensions. A consistent aftercare routine is the key to healthy lashes and long-lasting retention.
What products should I avoid?
Oil-based makeup and skincare around the eye area should be avoided, as oils can break down the adhesive and shorten the life of your extensions. If you prefer to oil cleanse, that's perfectly fine - just be sure to thoroughly cleanse your lashes afterward with an oil-free lash cleanser to remove any residue.
Can I swim, work out, or use a sauna?
Absolutely! Lash extensions are designed to fit your lifestyle, whether you're at the gym, in the pool, or on vacation. Just keep in mind that frequent exposure to steam or high heat, such as saunas and steam rooms, may reduce your retention over time.
Can I wear makeup with my eyelash extensions?
Yes! Just choose oil-free products around the eye area whenever possible, and cleanse your lashes thoroughly at the end of the day. If you like wearing eyeliner, I recommend using a black eyeshadow instead of traditional liquid or gel liners for easier removal and better retention.
When do I need to take a break from eyelash extensions?
No break needed. When lash extensions are applied correctly and cared for properly, there is no need to take routine breaks. Healthy application techniques and good aftercare allow you to enjoy extensions continuously while maintaining the health of your natural lashes.
Fills & Retention
When should I book a fill?
Fills are recommended every 2-3 weeks to keep your lashes looking full and balanced. I highly recommend booking your next fill before you leave your appointment to ensure your preferred time is reserved. Appointments scheduled more than 3 weeks after your last visit will be considered a full set.
How many lashes do I need left for a fill?
To qualify as a fill, I recommend returning within 2-3 weeks with at least 40-50% of your extensions remaining. If too few extensions are left, there isn't enough of the original set to refill, and a new full set may be required.
Why do my lashes flip as they grow out?
As your natural lashes grow, the extension's weight distribution can shift, causing some lashes to twist or flip to the side. This is completely normal. To keep your set looking polished between fills, you can gently reshape the spikes using the Spike Styler, available for purchase at your appointment.
Why do my lashes shed? Is something wrong?
Not at all! Natural lashes shed every day as part of their normal growth cycle. Because each extension is attached to one natural lash, the extension sheds along with it. Daily shedding is completely normal and simply means your lashes are renewing themselves as they should.
Can I sleep on my stomach or on my side?
You can, but your sleeping position may affect your retention. Side and stomach sleepers often notice more shedding on the side that rests against the pillow. A silk pillowcase can help reduce friction, and sleeping on your back offers the best retention. During your fill appointments, I'll also monitor your shed pattern and make adjustments to your lash design if needed.
